Lachlan has joined Peecho all the way from down-under. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Lachlan started his career in brand management and marketing consulting. After moving to Amsterdam, he has joined the team as an Online Marketeer and hopes to bring some Australian spirit to the team. Read our interview with Lachlan.Tell us about yourself?Hi! I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, but recently I moved to Amsterdam with my partner to escape the spiders and the snakes; and for a new challenge. I have been living in Amsterdam for a little over four months and I am happy to say that I no longer pass as a tourist on my bike. I haven’t mastered texting on the bike yet, but you can catch me in doing “no hands” on the weekend. What did you do before Peecho? Before I moved to Amsterdam, I split my time between completing my masters and working as a Marketing and Brand Assistant for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. ‘Peter Mac’ at the time was undergoing a major rebranding project which was a great experience to work on. Being part of such a huge organisational change is a great learning curve and I hope that I can bring some of the lessons I have learnt to Peecho. Why did you decide to move to Amsterdam?

I came to Amsterdam when I first finished high school and immediately felt at home in the city. Flash forward a few years to when my partner and I decided that we wanted to work overseas, Amsterdam felt like the natural choice. Amsterdam is definitely known for its entrepreneurial spirit and start up scene. As someone who is still at the beginning of their career, I think the city a great place to learn and grow. What might people not know about you?I don’t like stroopwafels. For those of you who live outside of the Netherlands, Stroopwafels are a Dutch cookie that consists of two pieces of thin biscuit stuck together with caramel. They are kind of the national treasure and everyone thinks they are delicious – except for me.What do you want to achieve at Peecho (and what do you think of Peecho so far)?I’ve been lucky to join Peecho at a time where there is a huge amount of creative energy and growth potential. This is my first start-up experience and I am looking forward to the opportunity to upskill and grow within a more agile environment. I am also eager to bring some of my existing experience in branding to expose even more creatives to the awesome potential that Peecho offers with their print and checkout solutions. So far, I have really enjoyed getting to know the Peecho team and the business as a whole. The office place is super supportive and there is always laugh to be had. I’m looking forward to what the next month’s bring.
